Dr Imogen Hale writes about what happens to organisations after the emergency ends. She spent a decade in logistics operations, including a warehouse fire whose aftermath cost her two thirds of her management team, before completing a doctorate at the Lowry School of Management on recovery in shift-based work. She is the author of The Recovery Habit (2016), Small Brave Things (2019), Hold the Line (2022) and The Steady Middle (2026), and a Visiting Fellow at the Institute for Public Services. She speaks to boards, conferences and whole-staff events in 11 countries, and lives in Edinburgh.
