Atelier Vaux

Colour and cutting for editorial, campaign and the small number of private clients we take between them.

THE ATELIER

We work from the photograph backwards.

Vaux is a two-floor studio on the upper floors of a converted wool store, and it spends most of its week on set — for editorial, campaign and press.

The private chairs exist between shoots, in the same small numbers every week, because the discipline that keeps the editorial work sharp is exactly what a private colour correction needs too.

THE WORK

Three kinds of booking.

Rates and availability differ sharply between them. All three run from the same diary.

Editorial & campaign

Day and half-day rates for shoots, shows and press. Kit travels, and a second pair of hands is standard on anything over four looks.

Private chair

Fourteen a week. Long appointments, no double-booking, and the same people who work the shoots.

Colour correction

The bulk of what walks in. Bring photographs of what happened, not what you wanted — it changes the plan.

The studio in numbers

Small floors, serious editorial.

From the diary

What clients say a year in.

“They turned down the brief, told us why, and proposed something better. We have not used anyone else since.”

Ines K.
HAMILTON

“Two colourists looked at the same correction and agreed on the plan before either one touched my hair. I have never had that anywhere else.”

Celeste M.
NEW FARM

“The consultation really is free and really is thirty minutes — nobody rushed me toward a booking I wasn’t ready for.”

THE TEAM

Two people, one diary.

Vaux is run by two colourists who work the sets together and split the private chairs between them.

Nobody hands you off midway — the person who takes your consultation is the person who does the colour.

The diary opens quarterly.

Private chairs are released three months at a time. Editorial is booked directly and usually at short notice.
