Shift scheduling for small teams

Rotas that take an hour, not an afternoon.

Built for teams of twelve to eighty: cafes, clinics, warehouses, care settings. Drag a shift, and everyone affected knows within seconds. Free for teams under fifteen, permanently.

What this is

A rota tool. Not a workforce management platform.

Cadence does scheduling, shift swaps, availability and hours totals. It does not do payroll, HR records, applicant tracking or engagement surveys, and we are not planning to. Small teams do not need a platform; they need the rota to stop being a spreadsheet that one person guards and everybody misreads.

What it does

Three things, properly

If you need the fourth thing, we will tell you which tool to look at.

Build the rota

Drag shifts onto people. Cadence flags double-bookings, unavailability and anyone heading past their contracted hours.

Handle the swaps

Staff request swaps in the app, cover is offered to everyone qualified, and nothing changes until a manager approves it.

Export the hours

Totals per person per period, exported as a file your payroll provider or accountant can actually use.

★★★★★

Our rota lived in a spreadsheet that only the deputy manager understood. It took a Sunday to move across and it has saved her about three hours every single week since.

Manager, 34-person cafe group

I asked whether it did holiday accrual and was told plainly that it does not, and which tool would. Being talked out of a subscription is not an experience I have had before.

Practice manager, dental group

The swap feature ended a two-year argument about who agreed to cover what. It is all in the log now and nobody has to remember a conversation.

Operations lead, warehouse
Using it fourteen months

Free under fifteen people. No card, no trial clock.
