You will be told what it costs before we start.

Family, property and employment law for people who would rather not need a solicitor at all. A written quote before any work starts, and we tell you if something is likely to push the cost up before it does.

What we do

Where most of our work sits.

01

Family law

Separation, parenting arrangements and property settlements, with a strong preference for resolving things without a hearing.

02

Property & conveyancing

Buying, selling and transfers, with a fixed fee quoted up front and no surprise items on settlement day.

03

Employment law

Contract review, workplace disputes and settlement agreements, explained in plain English before you sign anything.

Why we quote first

A bill you did not expect is most people’s actual complaint about lawyers.

01

Fixed fee, in writing — Standard property, wills and estate work is quoted before anything starts, so you agree the number, not just the hourly rate.

02

One named solicitor — The person you meet at the start handles the matter throughout, not whoever is free that week.

03

Told before it changes — If something in family or employment work is likely to push the cost up, we say so before it happens, not after.

How it works

Four steps, and the first is a free chat.

STEP 1

First meeting

Twenty minutes on the phone or in the office, no charge, to see whether we can help and roughly what it will cost.

STEP 2

Written quote

A fixed fee or a capped hourly rate, set out in writing, before anything is instructed.

STEP 3

The work

Regular updates in plain English, and a call before any decision that could change the cost.

STEP 4

Close-out

A final letter confirming what was done and what, if anything, still needs following up.

The quote I was given at the start was the figure on the invoice at the end. After a previous experience elsewhere, that alone was worth changing firms for.
