Our roastery

Where the Circle gathers.

A working roastery first, a clubhouse always — this is where every bag starts and where members pull up a chair on Saturday mornings.

The story

It started with a two-kilo drum in a garage.

The first roasts went to neighbours in paper bags with handwritten notes. The notes got longer, the neighbours started writing back, and it became obvious the conversation was worth as much as the coffee.

Ten years on, the drum is bigger and the notes live in the tasting library — but every bag still ships with the same question attached: what did you find in it?

Bean to bag

How a Cupping Room roast happens.

1

Buy small, buy traceable
Twelve origins a year, each from a named farm or washing station, bought in lots small enough to roast attentively.

2

Roast to order on Greta
Thirty kilos at a time, profiled by hand, cupped against the reference roast before any bag is filled.

3

Ship on roast day
Bagged the same morning it ships, with the roast date on the front and the Circle’s tasting notes a QR code away.

What we stand for

Four rules we roast by.

Not poster slogans — the actual tests every buying and roasting decision has to pass.

◆

Traceable

Every lot names its farm, its process and what we paid for it.

◇

Seasonal

Coffee is a crop. We buy what is fresh and let it go when it fades.

◈

Roasted to order

No pallet of stale bags in a warehouse. Your coffee was green last week.

Shared

The roast log, the recipes, the mistakes — all of it goes in the library.
