Lantern House Dental

Lantern Yard, off Musgrave Rd, Red Hill QLD 4059
Emergency appointments held daily · released at 9am
Red Hill · since 2012

Dentistry for people who would rather not.

Most of our new patients arrive after years of avoiding the chair. So the first visit is longer on purpose, everything we find is shown to you on the ceiling screen, and nothing starts until you have seen the price.

Phones answered by our own reception, not a call centre. Mon–Fri 8:00–6:00 · Tue & Thu until 8:00pm

WHY PEOPLE COME BACK

Nervous is normal here

01

Nothing unexplained

What we see goes up on the ceiling screen above your chair, labelled in plain words. You never have to take our word for it.

Every finding shown on screen
02

The stop signal

Raise a hand and we stop, straight away. No sigh, no “nearly done”. You choose when we carry on.

Any time, mid-anything
03

No surprise bills

The plan you sign is the price you pay. Anything over $300 is quoted in writing with the item numbers your fund needs.

Changes need your yes first
THE MONEY PART, UP FRONT

Common fees, published

These are the prices we charge. HICAPS is on the desk, so if you are in a fund you claim on the spot and pay the gap only.

The long first visit

$210

A talk first, then a gentle exam, two small x-rays and a written plan with prices. Sixty minutes, nothing rushed.

Check-up & hygiene

$189

Exam, scale, polish and fluoride with our hygienist in one appointment. X-rays every second year.

Hired for kind hands

We interview for chairside manner as carefully as for technique. You book with a person, and that person is who you see next time.

QUESTIONS

Asked at most first visits

The things people want to know before they book.

It's been years. Will I get a lecture?

No. You get an exam, a clear list of what needs doing, and that list put in order of what actually matters first. No pressure to book the whole plan on day one.

Do you take my health fund?

If your fund is on the HICAPS network, you swipe at the desk, the claim goes through on the spot, and you pay the gap only. We are not a preferred provider for any single fund.

Can I just come in and talk first?

Yes. Ask for a talk-only first visit: a chat, a look with a mirror if you want one, and a plan on paper. Nothing else happens unless you say so.

Do you bulk bill children?

Yes. Eligible children aged 2 to 17 are covered for a capped amount of dental care over two calendar years under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, and we bulk bill it, so there is nothing to pay at the desk.

Where do I park?

Behind the building, off the lane. The whole practice is step-free, from the car park to the chair.

Your teeth have been patient enough

Book the easy appointment first: a longer, gentle first visit and a plan on paper. HICAPS is on the desk, so if you are in a fund you claim on the spot and pay the gap only.
