The agency

Four people, a lot of miles.

We only plan trips to places at least one of us knows properly — never from a brochure.

How we work

A conversation, a plan, then the booking.

Six to ten weeks for a complex trip, less for something simple. A free call first — about an hour, on where, when, who with, and what you would rather skip.

Then we build a route and a written itinerary, with options, real costs and honest notes on every choice. Two rounds of changes are included before anything is booked, at net rates, with no commission taken.

What we will not compromise on

All four are in the planning agreement you sign before we start.

01

No commission, ever

We decline it. Everything is passed through at the net rate, with the supplier’s own figure shown.

02

We only plan where we have been

Ask for somewhere outside that and we will say so, and suggest someone better placed.

03

Honest notes on everything

Every hotel and guide comes with what is wrong with it as well as what is right.

04

The plan is yours

Take it and book it yourself if you would rather. We will not withhold the itinerary to force the booking.

Where we plan

A few of the places we know best

A handful of the places at least one of us has spent proper time.

A quiet Queensland beach at first light

Queensland

Reef, rainforest and hinterland, planned around the tides and the weather, not the school holidays.

Ancient Tasmanian forest, light through the canopy

Tasmania

Ancient forest and a coastline that rewards slow travel more than any other state we plan.

A raked gravel garden beside a Japanese temple wall

Japan

Temples, gardens and rail timetables that reward planning down to the half hour.

A blue-and-white tiled courtyard in northern Portugal

Portugal

Tiled courtyards and slow food, usually the cheapest of the four and one of the most loved.

The agency in numbers

Small on purpose

These figures describe what we do, not how many people we have done it for.

New trips planned a month, at most

We take on a limited number of trips at a time.

So that every one of them gets the attention a rushed itinerary never does.
