Common questions

How long does a design take?

Usually two weeks from the design visit to a concept plan, a little longer if the block is unusual.

Do you do planting-only jobs?

Yes — plenty of clients just want the planting plan and do the digging themselves, or bring in their own contractor for the hard landscaping.

Are you licensed?

Structural work — retaining walls, decks, pergolas and paving — is QBCC-licensed, and our licence number is on every quote for it. Garden design and planting are not licensed trades.

What if I don't like the concept plan?

Two rounds of revisions are included in the design fee before we lock anything in.

How much does a retaining wall cost?

It depends on height, length and access — a design visit gives you real numbers, not a guess over the phone.

Do you guarantee the planting?

Yes, for a full growing season. If something we planted doesn’t take and it wasn’t a watering problem, we replace it.

Can you work around an existing garden?

Most jobs do — we design around what’s worth keeping and only clear what has to go.

What does a design visit involve?

An hour on your block looking at sun, soil, drainage and how you actually use the space, with honest numbers before you commit.
