The day

What documentary coverage actually looks like.

Close to what is happening, out of the way of it, and largely invisible by the middle of the afternoon.

The shape of the day

Three parts, and you only need to book the first for it to be worth it

1

Before. An hour together somewhere you actually like, mostly so you get used to me being there. Included with full-day bookings.

2

During. Ceremony through to the middle of the dancing, documentary throughout — close to what is happening, largely out of the way of it.

3

After. A preview within a week, the full edited gallery in four, high resolution with a print release and no album upsell.

Documentary, not directed

I do not run a shot list and I do not spend your afternoon arranging people who would rather be at the bar. A handful of portraits, then I get out of the way and photograph what is actually happening.

A small intimate wedding gathering on a city rooftop

Small weddings photograph beautifully too

Registry offices, elopements, a dozen people on a rooftop. They are priced properly as their own package, not treated as a discounted afterthought of a full day.

A couple portrait on a beach at golden hour

Weather is not the problem people think it is

Wind, rain, an overcast sky — every one of them gives a different kind of light, and some of my favourite galleries were shot on the days couples apologised for the weather.

Delivery

What you get in every booking

The part most photographers are vaguest about.

A couple laughing together in natural light on their wedding day

The full gallery

Every usable frame, edited consistently, delivered in a private online gallery you can download in full.

A print release

Full resolution, yours to print anywhere. Nothing is held back to sell you an album.

A quiet getting-ready moment before the ceremony

A preview within a week

Around forty edited photographs inside seven days — enough to share with everyone who is asking.

A couple dancing under string lights, available light only

Albums, only if you want one

I make albums because some people want an object rather than a folder, not because the gallery is held hostage until you buy one.

Common questions

Asked before booking

If yours is not here, phone and ask. We answer these ourselves.

Do you photograph small weddings?

Yes, and priced as their own package rather than a scaled-down full day. Registry offices, elopements and small gatherings photograph beautifully.

What if it rains?

We shoot anyway. Rain and overcast light are usually kinder than harsh midday sun, and some of my favourite galleries came from a forecast nobody was happy about.

How many photographs will we get?

A full day typically delivers several hundred finished images. The exact number depends on the length of the day, not on a promised count.

Do you offer albums?

Yes, as an optional add-on after the gallery is delivered. They are never required to see or download your full set of photographs.

How far do you travel?

Anywhere in South-East Queensland. Travel within two hours of Brisbane is included in every package; beyond that it is $1.20/km, quoted before you book.

How do we book?

A short contract and a deposit hold the date. The balance is due a month before the wedding, and nothing is time-limited or drip-priced after you sign.

Check your date before you fall in love with it.

Two weddings a month, no more. If I am already booked, I will say so the same day and point you toward someone good.
