THE TEAM

The people your pet pulls towards

Independently owned since 2013 — not part of a corporate group, which matters because nobody here has a monthly sales target for dental procedures or prescription food.

Who you will be booked with

Three vets and a head nurse, all on staff. If you see Marta for the first visit, you can ask for her again.

Dr Marta Fern, veterinarian and practice owner

Dr Marta Fern

Veterinarian & owner

Marta spent her early career in practices that referred out anything interesting — the lab work, the imaging, the harder surgery. Fernbrook was built to keep as much of that in-house as a general practice reasonably can, so the referral letters she still writes now are for the genuinely specialist work.

Here since 2013

Dr Ossian Reyes, veterinarian

Dr Ossian Reyes

Veterinarian

Ossian handles most of the medical cases — kidney disease, diabetes, thyroid problems, the long-term management that keeps older animals comfortable for years. He is also our cat person, and the separate cat waiting corner was his idea after one too many carriers parked beside a labrador.

Here since 2017

Dr Amelia Rourke, veterinarian

Dr Amelia Rourke

Veterinarian

Amelia sees most of the puppies and kittens and runs the Wednesday evening puppy school. She will talk to you about socialisation for as long as you will listen, on the basis that the sixteen-week window is the cheapest behavioural intervention anyone will ever get.

Here since 2020

Tilly Marchant, head veterinary nurse

Tilly Marchant

Head veterinary nurse

Tilly monitors every anaesthetic in this building and runs the nurse clinics. She is also the voice on the phone who can usually tell you whether something needs to be seen today — years of triage are worth more than most online symptom checkers.

Here since 2015

Consults, vaccinations and desexing are priced on this website

Ring between 8am and 7pm weekdays and one of our nurses will tell you honestly whether it needs to be seen today.
